Synopsis:

Everything changed the moment he found her…

Cal Remus is in love.

But the object of his affection barely acknowledges his existence. Worse: She acts like he’s the dirt sticking to the bottom of her shoe. Weaker men might give up. But not Cal. Hell no, he loves a good challenge and Ariana Skyee has made this the most intriguing challenge of all.

Having read his father’s confidential military files, Cal should be concerned about the seemingly fragile new world order on Planet Novo and the events back on Earth. But he’s distracted.

Securing Arianas love is his number one priority.

He’s going to win her heart, or die trying.

My Review:
This was such a fun little read. It is very short, but it is a novella after all. You get to see a glimpse of Cal before it all. You know he picks on her a bit before the real feelings come out, but it was nice to see how he really feels. In the other books I have read in this series, I wasn't sure what his motivations really were towards Ariana, now I have no doubt.

His love for Ariana is so sweet and passionate it is remarkable. It is all very convincing and you know it isn't fake. He loves her, he knows it, and will find a way to get to her. I am glad I got to read this after I read the other books. It gave me the chance to really see the characters blossom into a relationship than seeing him full force in this book. I loved this book, but I like getting it cleared up after the fact.

I think that this has officially put me over to team Cal, though there is a novella coming out with Zane's side, so I might flip flop again at that point.

I fall more and more in love with this series every time I pick up something new from this author. She has such a talent for writing and you can really feel her connection with not only Ariana, but all the characters in her book. They feel so real as you read and each personality is all their own. This book proves how much depth she put into it all and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this series!
