Synopsis:

My name is Skylar Quinn. I just moved to New York with my best friend Bridget, and I have a confession. Well, more than one. Okay, quite a few really. Fine, here goes!

Confession #1: I'm a sex columnist. Hold on, that's not really the confession. You see, I'm sort of a virgin...sex columnist.

Confession #2: I'm kind of in love with Bridget's older brother, Oliver. No, I was. No, I am. Wait, was? Am? Crap.

Confession #3: I've been avoiding Oliver for four years. Or I was until today, because he just moved in. Yes, you read that correctly. He's my new roommate. So that night we've both been pretending never happened, well, we might not be able to keep it a secret any longer.

And trust me, this is only the beginning.

My Review:
I have been in a horrible reading slump for the past month. I started a new job and work a second job on the weekends as well. I was finding it hard to get time to read. I would come home and have to cook dinner then pretty much go to bed. I knew this tour was coming up and needed to get this one read. Once I got into the first chapter, I couldn't stop. I sat with my cup of sweet tea and the book and read it all in one sitting.

I really enjoyed reading from Skye's point of view. It was quite a trip to follow her around. Parts made you anxious just like her. Other parts you felt the humor that the characters seemed to have. Skye had a good head on her shoulders. She tried so hard to keep her heart in one piece even when it was anything but whole. Most girl characters have some characteristic that I find annoying, but not Skye. I could see her being a friend of mine in real life.

Oliver is such a sweetie. I felt a pull towards him through out the whole book. I knew there was more to him then he was letting on. A lot of it came out at the end and you got to see the real him. I am very glad for that. He seemed like a strong character and you could pick up on his vibes along the way without even trying. He had such a personality for the little bits that you really got to see him.

Bridget seemed like she would be a handful but such a good person at the same time. I enjoyed seeing her a best friend and all the childhood memories that you get to see when reminiscing happened. I hope to find a friend like her one day.

The story flows really well. I enjoyed reading it as someone telling you the story as they remember experiencing it. It is happening as the book goes, but yet it still seems like a story telling. I really enjoyed reading it that way. The details in it are remarkable. I was able to picture everything as it was happening through my eyes.

My only complaint is that I didn't know this was going to be a series. I thought it was a stand alone book. At the end of the book you get a cliffhanger and find out that you find out more in the next book. I was expecting the ending to be different, but when there is a series involved you tend to not get closure at the end of the book. I will be waiting around for the next book now because I need to know what happens with Skye, Bridget, and Ollie.

I still give this book 5 stars because it deserves it. I am glad I was able to read this and help me want to read again. I know this has pulled me out of my slump to keep going. This is such a good book with deep meaning woven throughout the fun. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a fun summer or beach read as well as anyone needing a good book to help them brighten up their day.

About the Author
I've always been a writer. I grew up duct taping my novels together, started writing complete manuscripts in high school and studied creative writing at Johns Hopkins University. Upon graduating, I decided it was finally time to actually give my dream career a chance. So, of course, I started writing a young adult paranormal romance series -- and no, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. I've been a true paranormal supporter for my entire life! I blame my obsession almost completely on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, my all-time favorite television show. And, before you ask: Yes, I own every season... even the post WB ones! I especially challenge anyone to watch the first three seasons and not fall in love with Angel, securing a lifelong love of vampires! Other culprits of my paranormal obsession are some of my favorite authors: JK Rowling, Raymond Feist, Meg Cabot, Richelle Mead, Lynne Ewing and Tamora Pierce.
