Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme brought to you at The Broke and the Bookish!! Each week we will be releasing a top ten book related list for you all to enjoy!
I thought that this would be one of the hard weeks, but I was shocked that I came up with them pretty quickly. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad! Oh well....enjoy!!
Ten Book Related Problems I Have
1. Too Many to Pick From
I have sooo many books on my shelves I have yet to read. I don't even wanna think about including what I have on my Kindle. I feel like I make headway on lots of them, but then I end up buying more and get back to the problem all over again.
2. Book Buying Bans
There are times when I have to put myself on book buying bans. I don't usually want to. But I have started to feel it is necessary. I am trying to read at least 5 books on my shelf before I allow myself to buy another book. That helps save me money for sure. It also helps get my TBR shelves down a bit.
3. Endings Making me Want to Throw the Book Across the Room
I have had the problem of reading books that have horrible endings. I don't know why the authors do it. I have found it is more the big name authors doing it too. I don't know if it is a new fad or what. I just know I feel like the guy in Silver Lining Playlist. I want to take my book and throw it out the window. I walk around ticked off for a while. My poor boyfriend gets to deal with the side affects of horrible endings.
4. Books too Big to Fit in my Purse
I am reading The Mortal Instruments right now. I have a decent sized purse, enough to fit a book or two at a time. But this series has books so big and they are hardcover that they pretty much take up the whole purse. I like to carry a book with me, but this series is being difficult!!
5. Not Enough Reading Time
I would go to work, come home, cook dinner. By the time I was done with everything it was already time for me to go to bed for the next day of work. I've been trying to stay up earlier, but I just get tired so early right now. I end up not getting to read much during the week, if not at all. I spend my weekends trying to catch up on what I wanted to read during the week.
6. Blemishes on Books
I get angry if there are marks on my books or the dust jacket gets ripped. I don't let anyone borrow my books because I am afraid I will get it back it look like a dog got a hold of it. If my spines crack, I end up having to buy a new one so I don't have to look at it. I am OCD for sure about my books staying pretty.
7. Spoiler Reviews
I try not to read reviews on books anymore. Sometimes I read them anyway and I get lucky. Other times I read them and I get told everything about the book. I am like well, now there is no point to reading it. I already know all of it. If bloggers are going to write spoilers, they really need to let us know. Very few do though. It makes me sad.
8. Ugly Crying in Front of Others
I am a wimp with most books. If there is anything that might make someone cry, it definitely will get me. I think the ugliest I cried though is tied between Marley and Me and The Fault in our Stars. I looked awful. My face was sooo puffy and red. I try to read books like that at home so only my poor boyfriend has to see it, but sometimes I don't know there are scenes that are sad in it and I will end up crying in public no matter how hard I try to fight it.
9. Waiting for the Next Book in a Series
I HATE waiting for the next book in a series to come out. I am usually lucky and don't pick up a series until it is complete. I might buy them, but they stay on my shelf til I end up with all of them. That way I can just read through each one and know how it all ends instead of waiting. Sometimes I pick up a book though thinking it is a standalone and find out the hard way it isn't. I then get to play the waiting game. Sometimes the authors take so long to get the next out out I end up having to wait and re-read them all at the end again anyway. That is what I am doing with TMI right now. I am having to re-read all of them so I made sure I didn't miss too much.
10. End of Series Depressions
If I read a series, especially a long one. At the end of it, I get depressed. I don't want to read another book yet because I am still digesting what I just read in the series. My biggest one would probably have to be from the Vampire Academy series. I didn't read for like 2 weeks after that series. I couldn't let go of my Dimitri so easily!!
Well, that's my list for the week! Hope you all enjoy!
