The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

My Review:
Let me first say that I don't understand why so many people hated this book. Yes, a lot happens in it, but it also is a really good story.

This book is set with two different point of views. You follow in some chapters Four and other chapters you follow Tris. At first I didn't understand why she did it this way in the book. In the first 2 books it was following Tris. I learned to like it though when I saw that you weren't always with the two characters together. In fact the book is spent with them being apart a lot for one reason or another. It was nice to see what was going on with both of the characters. You were able to piece things together from both sides.

I know this review might be quite short, but I don't know what to say really that won't give so much away to all of you. I hate spoilers and don't want to do anything to spoil this trilogy for any of you that haven't read it yet.

This book definitely made me cry. I now have trouble from stopping crying just because it hits your emotions hard throughout most of the book. I don't always like books that are like this, but for this book it does work for it. Not all things end happily in this book, but I won't tell you what doesn't work out and what does. Just have a box of tissues ready because if you are anything like me, you might need to wipe away a few tears.

I loved this book. I don't want to read it again anytime soon, but I still really enjoyed it and definitely give it 5 stars. I think she ended it well even if it wasn't the way everyone was expecting it to be.

Anyone who would like to discuss more in depth about this book with spoilers can email me and we can talk about it some more :) My email you can get by clicking the envelope on the side bar!

Stacking the Shelves

Let me start by saying I know there is more than 1 book here. I only purchased one of these books. The other were buy 2 get 1 free at our bookstore and my boyfriend insisted on buying them for me even when I said I was on a book buying ban. He said it isn't breaking the ban if he buys them.

Teardrop is the one I purchased at Books-A-Million, it was 60% off so I couldn't pass it up!

10798416The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight
By: Jennifer E. Smith

Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. Having missed her flight, she's stuck at JFK airport and late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon-to-be stepmother Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's sitting in her row.

A long night on the plane passes in the blink of an eye, and Hadley and Oliver lose track of each other in the airport chaos upon arrival. Can fate intervene to bring them together once more?

Quirks of timing play out in this romantic and cinematic novel about family connections, second chances, and first loves. Set over a twenty-four-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

By: Lauren DeStefano

By age sixteen, Rhine Ellery has four years left to live. She can thank modern science for this genetic time bomb. A botched effort to create a perfect race has left all males with a lifespan of 25 years, and females with a lifespan of 20 years. Geneticists are seeking a miracle antidote to restore the human race, desperate orphans crowd the population, crime and poverty have skyrocketed, and young girls are being kidnapped and sold as polygamous brides to bear more children.
When Rhine is kidnapped and sold as a bride, she vows to do all she can to escape. Her husband, Linden, is hopelessly in love with her, and Rhine can’t bring herself to hate him as much as she’d like to. He opens her to a magical world of wealth and illusion she never thought existed, and it almost makes it possible to ignore the clock ticking away her short life. But Rhine quickly learns that not everything in her new husband’s strange world is what it seems. Her father-in-law, an eccentric doctor bent on finding the antidote, is hoarding corpses in the basement. Her fellow sister wives are to be trusted one day and feared the next, and Rhine is desperate to communicate to her twin brother that she is safe and alive. Will Rhine be able to escape--before her time runs out?
Together with one of Linden's servants, Gabriel, Rhine attempts to escape just before her seventeenth birthday. But in a world that continues to spiral into anarchy, is there any hope for freedom?

Review -- Insurgent

Author: Veronica Roth
Release Date: January 1st, 2012
Publisher: Harper Collins
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
Pages: 525
Format: Hardcover, Bought

Goodreads | Amazon

One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

My Review:

As I finished Divergent, she left off at a very suspenseful spot! I had to run to my bookshelf and get Insurgent because I had to know where it went. I was glad that I had the whole trilogy there sitting for me to flow from book to book. If not I would have been doing a late night run to the closest place for me to get this book.

I didn't like this book quite as much as I liked Divergent. This is because of Tris. She has went through A LOT in this book, yes I do know that. With that said though, she reacted badly to most of the situations. I wanted to go yell at her in the book. I still like her as a character, but I just really felt like she needed to act more like an adult instead of a child. She acted through her emotions even when she thought what she was doing was the right thing.

Some of the other characters change a lot in this book, or even if they don't necessarily change, they still do things to surprise you. Some of the characters and their actions make your jaw drop. There was a few times I had to re-read parts to make sure I read what I did!

This book is set all over the place. They travel around quite a bit in this book, so I can't really tell you where exactly they are or I could be here most of the day listing where all they went. I liked that it was all over though because I was able to experience how the other factions lived as well. I was curious in the first book how the different factions did things in their own locations, so I was happy to see it in this book.

Veronica does a great job with keeping you intrigued. This book is slower than the first book, but yet you are more sucked into the pages with this one. I couldn't stop reading. I had to help my boyfriend with some homework that he wasn't sure how to do for his college math class and we had a friend come into town unexpectedly. Even though I did what I had to do, I found my mind to be thinking about this book and wanting to finish it so I can find out what happens.

I ended up waking up early and laid in bed to finish this book before I did anything today. I am now ready to devour book 3, Allegiant. I have waited a while to read this series for the last book to come out. I was mad I didn't start reading it when Divergent first hit the shelf. Now I am glad about it. I can now hop from each book and not have to suffer so much waiting for the next book. I have them all right here and ready to go.

I still very much enjoyed this book even with the things I said about Tris. I am having my fingers crossed about the romance and I hope it ends well. I have heard a lot that the last book isn't very good, so I really hope I disagree and love it. I love this trilogy so far. I can't stop reading it and I know anyone else that reads it will love it too!

1 crush on your best friend +
1 gorgeous, scheming new girl +
1 Mathletics competition =
1 big mess

Ashley Price doesn’t have much in life after being bullied so hard she had to leave her old school to live with her aunt and uncle in Pittsburgh. But the camera she borrowed from her best friend and secret crush Brendan, and her off the charts math abilities, make things a lot more bearable. Plus, since Brendan is the captain, making the school Mathletes team should be easy.

But when gorgeous new girl Sofia rolls in and steals Brendan, Ashley's place on the team, and her fragile foothold on the Mansfield Park Prep social totem pole, it’s on. Sofia is everything Ashley left her old school to escape. The only thing Ashley didn’t count on is Sofia’s sexy twin brother Vincent.

Vincent is not only the hottest boy in school, he’s charming, sweet, and he’s got his eye on Ashley. He’s also not taking no for an answer. There's no real reason Ashley shouldn't like Vincent, but with the
battle lines being drawn between her and Sofia, Ashley’s not sure which side he’s on. Or which side she wants him to be on.

She does know Sofia is trouble with a capital T, and she’s determined to make Brendan see it.

SOLVING FOR EX is a YA contemporary romance that remixes Mansfield Park as Clueless meets Mean Girls in a crazy mix of high school society, mathletic competition, and teenage romance.
