Top Ten Tuesday -- Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015 -- bookish, blogging or otherwise!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme brought to you at The Broke and the Bookish!! Each week we will be releasing a top ten book related list for you all to enjoy!

I tried to put quite a bit of thought into this one. I did, however, put all of my goals for the year, not just my blogging ones :)

Top Ten Goals/Resolutions For 2015 -- bookish, blogging or otherwise!

1. Comment more on Posts.
Work has been sucking up most of my time. When I do get home I peek at my blog, read all my comments, then go sit and relax and try to read. I feel bad because this means that though I promise I read each and every one of your comments, I haven't been commenting back. I know it takes me some time to comment to others blogs and usually if I do that, I don't get time to read before I gotta go to bed. I am going to try to comment at least every other day to get back into the blogging world more.

2. Learn French.
I have wanted to learn this language for a long time. I originally wanted to learn German when I was in high school, but the German teacher retired the year I could have taken the class. So to be easy on myself I decided to take Spanish. I wish I would have not been lazy and just learned French back then. So this year I am buying the kits and listening to the CDs in the car and going to try to be fluent in French by the time 2016 comes around.

3. Learn the Guitar.
I always wanted to learn the guitar, I tried to teach myself in high school as well, but as I am left handed and was trying to learn right handed, it was very difficult. I gave up. I didn't have the money back then to be able to get me a lefty guitar, but I hope to get one this year and at least learn to play it a little bit.

4. Reorganize my Bookshelves.
We don't have a ton of space in our home for books, but I do have 3 five-shelf bookshelves in our study/guest bed room. I originally had 4, but my boyfriend thought one was meant for him and started to take over it. He has filled that one and another 3 shelf bookshelf, so I know I need to go out and get him a couple 5 shelf ones so I can have mine back. Once I get mine back I hope to re-arrange it to be much more organized. It is organized to a point, but now how I want it to be. Everything is all squished together and I want to fix that.

5. Read 100 Books.
I read 100 books this year and I was so proud of myself. I didn't even hit 50 books the year before, so I doubled my reading rate this year. i don't want to try to triple it and not make it, but I hope to be able to read at least 100 books again.

6. Read more books from my TBR Jar/stop signing up for too many Review Books.
I've had a bad problem of signing up for WAYYYYY too many review books. I sadly haven't had time to read anything but review books. As they are good and I enjoy them, it has been stressing me out really bad. I want to be able to read what I want to. So I haven't signed up for any reviews recently because I am going into the new year with NO review books at all. I am going to spend the first couple of months reading nothing but books on my shelves that I want to. After that I am limiting myself to 2 review books a month. If I already signed up for 2, no matter the book I will not let myself sign up for it. I can't get overwhelmed again or I can see a reading slump happening to me. I will also be using my TBR jar each month. I have a hardcopy jar and a ebook jar. I think I will switch out the jars out each month for which one I pick out of.

7. Work out More.
This kind of goes with the commenting thing. I haven't been working out because I get off at 5, then I get to drive 45 minutes home, then I got to go get stuff for food and then cook it. After I cook I have like an hour to myself to do what I want before I go to bed. Some days I don't even get that depending on what we cook that night. So I tend to save that time for reading. But I know my health needs me to work out at least a little. I am going to try to work out 3 days a week. I know when I used to work out, I wasn't tired as early, so it might end up helping me stay up past 9 o'clock.

8. Get more Swag for my Blog.
I have bookmarks for my blog, I have been sending them out with giveaways that I host, but I want to get more stuff. I am hoping for post cards, pins, pens, and my bookmarks. I might even get t-shirts eventually if the swag takes off. If anyone wants some of my bookmarks, leave me a comment with email address, tweet me, or send me an email so I can get your address to mail you some :)

9. Go to BEA.
I have wanted to go to BEA for years. I started my first blog back in 2008 and I have wanted to go since then. I have yet to go and it makes me very sad. Heck, this last year I scheduled my posts to go up that week so I didn't have to see everyone talking about it. I am starting to save now to go up this year and I think my bestie, Kristalyn, is going to split a room so we can all go and save some money this way. I'm not letting money get in the way this year!!

10. Read 5 books before I can buy 1.
I have been doing better with my book buying, but since I have been reading nothing but review books, I've been buying books but not able to read them. So my TBR pile is getting bigger and bigger. I do have a book buying problem. So I am not making myself read 5 physical copy books before I can buy 1 book. I will allow a cheat if it is a book that just came out and I know I will read it right then, I will be able to buy that one and buy it. Other than those small exceptions, I will be devouring my bookshelves this year to catch up on all of those that I have bought these past few years!

  2. OOoh that last one sounds like a good idea! But I'm always the one who wants to buy at release week to support my fave authors! I've had too many canceled series to be crushed over, I want the important sale numbers to count! And then I actually need to try to read those asap and get reviews up...which can be harder to manage sometimes!

    Good luck with your resolutions!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    1. If it is an indie author that I love, I do buy their books to help them out, but I can't afford to buy every book I want to get or I wouldn't have a roof over my head!! Maybe one day I will be rich....

  3. 100 books?! That's awesome, congrats!! I've only read 48, hopefully 49 (trying to finish City of Heavenly Fire before New Years). I'm learning French right now! Phew - it's tough. I hope you get to it, though. It's quite a beautiful language, and fun to learn (but also quite stressful). I want to go to BEA, as well! Doubt I'll be able too this year, but if you do, be sure to post all about it!
Have a great New Years (:

    1. I heard it is pretty tough to learn, but I have a big pull to learn it anyway! I might not make it to BEA but I am sure trying!! If I make it I will be taking pictures while I am there to put up for everyone :)
