Top Ten Tuesday -- Ten Places Books Have Made Me Want To Visit

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme brought to you at The Broke and the Bookish!! Each week we will be releasing a top ten book related list for you all to enjoy!

I have wanted to travel to so many places because of books, this was such a fun week :)

Ten Places Books Have Made Me Want To Visit

1. Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and Diagon Alley
Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

I'm sure this will be on a lot of lists this week, but how can you not want to be here. I wish I wasn't a Muggle, but now that I am 26 I know that my Hogwarts letter won't be coming. I like to tell myself it was lost somehow. I would love to be anywhere in the Harry Potter world, heck I would even take the Forbidden Forest, but Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and Diagon Alley have the most pull for me. I would love to see the castle and I would also love to see all the shops in the other two. I guess I have to settle for Universal Studios when it comes to seeing all of them!

2. France
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

I have wanted to visit France for a long time, heck I've even started learning French because it is a goal of mine to live out there someday. I love to bake so I got into France for the cooking, but then I keep reading books that are set in France and it makes me want to go even more. Anna and the French Kiss was one of the most recents books that made the pull for me to go to France even stronger!

3. Italy
Italian for Beginners by Kristin Harmel

I have also read several books dealing with Italy. They have all been with the topic of cooking. I love reading books that have cooking in them. Italy is of course known for their great food so I want to go over there and experience it for myself. After I learn French I will be trying to tackle the Italian language as well. I would love to backpack around and get to eat all the yummy food. I also have a boyfriend that is Italian, so I would love to go there to see his heritage as well!

4. Crescent Cove, California
Drenaline Series by Nikki Godwin

I live in Florida, but I live in the Gulf Coast. We don't know what waves are. We have ripples. We have "surfers" here but I can guarantee probably none of them could last on the east or west coast waves. Because of this, I didn't feel a need to really care about surfing. This book changed that, I find myself researching names of moves in my free time and stalking Nikki's twitter to see what's new in the surf world. This book has made me want to go out to California and meet the guys and become a part of their crew too. I can barely walk without tripping, so I know surfing isn't in my cards, but that doesn't mean I can't help out from the shore!

5. Russia
Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead

Russia is also a place I have always wanted to go to. I have met so many great people from there, I even have kiddos at the daycare that I work at that have a mommy that is from Russia. I will admit 2 things here, 1, I think the accents are incredibly sexy, but 2 I also would be tracking down Dimitri. Sorry, Rose, but he would be mine. Dimitri is my number 1 book boyfriend and if he is from Russia I have to see all the others too!!

6. Faeryland
Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa

As you can see just by looking at my blog, I got a thing for Faeries. I originally got into them from the Wings Series, but the land of Faeryland pulls to me too! I would love to be a Fae and see what color and traits I would have. I think I would like this more than being a wizard to be honest and that is saying a lot!

7. Illea
The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

I think this world would be awesome. There are so many creatures out there, Fae, vampires, werewolves, shadowhunters, angels, demons. I would love to be a part of that world and get to experience all of it!

8. Avalon
Wings Series by Aprilynne Pike

As stated above, this was my first Fae book. The world in here is different than any other Fae book that I have read. I love the idea of the different seasonal Faeries and all that go along with that territory. Plus I would love to meet Tamani, he was my first Fae book boyfriend, I would love to see him and his green hair!!

9. Narnia
Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

I haven't read the books for this, but I plan on it one day. I have watched the movies though and the world interests me greatly. I think I would love to be able to travel here and see all the mystical creatures!

10. Forks, Washington
Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

Twilight is the first Paranormal book I have ever read. I hadn't even read Harry Potter at this time. The book size scared me at the time. I got sucked in right away. I am not ashamed to say I love Twilight and I know I always will. I would love to go to Forks to not only see the place that inspired the books, but just to see if I can find me a Vampire.

Well, that's my list for the week! Hope you all enjoy!

Leave me your links below!

  1. Looks like we need to vacation together to some of these places! Great list! :D

  2. Nice! Hogwarts was on my list too! Would love every inch of that place!

I almost chose Julie's Land of Fey or whatever to call it, but then I remembered how freaking creepy it was, then again I chose Wonderland and everyone's mad there! So yeah...basically needed more than 10 picks! ;)

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!
