Memory Lane Monday #28 -- Beautiful Disaster Recap

This is a new weekly meme that Kristalyn over at The Sarcastic Palmtree and I, Amber at Paradise of Pages, came up with. We have been wanting to re-read some of our favorites but feel overwhelmed by all the other new books coming out that our re-reads get put to the side. That is how we came up with this meme, we decided we don't want to put them aside anymore, so we will be taking turns putting up our reviews on the re-reads we do throughout the month. This does not mean we won't keep up with recent releases as well, it just means we will make more time for those we have read before as well.

So here is how this meme will work:

  • Each week the co-hosts will trade off with recapping when it is a re-read or what they have heard so far about the book and the other co-host will put up their review.
  •  The participants can read anything that they remember reading in the past, or something that they have wanted to read that has been around for a while and just haven't gotten around to reading it yet for whatever reason.
  • Participants can decide if they want to recap the book before reading it or just put up a review of what they read.
  • Anyone can join in, just please link back to our blogs as well as add your name to the linky so we can hop around and see what everyone is reading.
  • Please put our banner on your post as well, so we all look the same!
  • We ask you kindly to follow BOTH of our blogs.
  • Most importantly remember to just have fun! :)

We will be providing each week a linky that you will be able to also link your posts for us to view. All we ask is for you to put up our banner as well as a link back to BOTH hosts on your post.

Beautiful Disaster
By Jamie McGuire

Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

My Recap:
I loved this book when I read it. It was a few weeks after Fifty Shades of Grey when I picked it up. It was on a shelf that said What To Read After Fifty Shades. This one stood out to me because the butterfly as well as the synopsis just didn't make sense to me to go along with Fifty Shades. This made me want to buy it, I wanted to see why it was on the shelf. Also of course the cover is gorgeous, as you all know, I am a cover snob!

I remember Abby being very innocent. I remember her going to a fight and getting called Pigeon. I was confused why he would call her that.

I remember them fighting a lot. Not it a bad way though, it works out for them and didn't make me stressed to read about it.

I remember Travis boxing.

I remember Travis being mean and trying to get back at Abby and doing some things he shouldn't have done.

I remember her best friend is named America I believe.

I remember the love forming for multiple people within the story.

I remember more but I don't want to say too much without giving away major parts of the story, so I tried to keep it spoiler free :)

I can't wait to get around to this book again. I know I will be sucked into it all over again!

We will be back next week with our review or recap!

What about you? What do you remember about the time that you read this book/series?
