1. Twilight
by Stephanie Meyer

Twilight is what first got me back into reading. I read a little here or there when I was younger. I always loved going to the Library, I had fun looking at all the books for hours. But I was always so scared to really read any of them. They seemed like so much work at that point. It didn't stop me from going to see the books every week. Then my cousin talked me into reading Twilight. If it wasn't for this series, I would be on this blog to this day. It sucked me in and opened me up to the wonderful world of YA.

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2)Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3)
2. Hunger Games
by Suzanne Collins

I read the synopsis for this many many times and I thought it sounded horrible. So many people were saying how good it was though. So I finally decided to read it a few years ago. I then discovered the world of Dystopian fiction. I still to this day get iffy when reading a Dystopian, the synopsis always sounds horrible, but each time I remember this trilogy and how I didn't want to read it either. It helps me jump into the books and want to read more and more Dystopian, no matter how bad it originally sounds.

The Notebook
3. The Notebook
by Nicholas Sparks

This is the book that got me into contemporary. I saw the movie come out, really wanted to watch it, but ended up in a break up so I never got to see it. I didn't want to go watch a love story after I just lost someone that was my world for over a year. I did buy the book though and had it on my shelf for a while. This goes with the Twilight thing. I bought books and looked at them all the time, I just never really read them. Then Hurricane Ivan hit my home. It was horrible. we were out of power for weeks and had to live off MREs (meals ready to eat). They are the pouched meals that are given to the military if you didn't know what they are. I was bored, we did all we could around our house to clean up, so I pulled out this book.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1)1588156

by J.K. Rowling

This is the book that has helped me through so much. After reading Twilight, I got into the book blogging community. I really don't know how I ran into it, I just know I did and fell in love. Everyone had a love for this series, but seeing how huge it was, I was scared to read it. But I decided to give it a shot and I fell in love. After book 1, I just couldn't stop. The books, though big, flew by a lot faster than I thought they would. Now anytime I am having a hard time I either pick up a book or a movie and it makes me feel better. I also try to re-read the series once a year or two just to keep it all really fresh in my mind. I actually just finished this series and love it just as much as I did when I first read it :) This will forever be my number one series that will always be there for me when I need it.

5. Wings
by Aprilynne Pike

This is the series that got me into faeries. I am a huge Peter Pan fan. Heck, I even have him tattooed on my shoulder. So naturally I started to get angry because it was always Tinkerbell everywhere, but nothing Peter Pan. Even at Disney World you can't find anything with him on it. I buy anything I can when I find him. But that made me hate Tink, she was everywhere. So I started saying stupid fairies. Then I saw the cover of Wings. I fell in love with it. It is so simple yet so beautiful. I had to have it, even if it was about Faeries. It sat on my shelf for years. I ended up picking this book in my TBR Jar one day so I knew I had to read it because of that. Little did I know then that I would fall in love with the Fae world. I devoured the whole series and set on a mission to find all the Fae books I could find. It even got me watching the Tinkerbell movies and falling in love with them too. Now I can't get enough of Faeries and I don't think I ever will. I have this series to thank for that.
