They come first.

My vision was growing dimmer, the blackness and ghosts closing in. I swore it was like I could hear Robert whispering in my ear: The world of the dead won't give you up a second time. Just before the light completely vanished, I saw Dimitri's face join Lissa's. I wanted to smile. I decided then that if the two people I loved most were safe, I could leave this world.

The dead could finally have me.

Rose Hathaway has always played by her own rules. She broke the law when she ran away from St. Vladimir's Academy with her best friend and last surviving Dragomir princess, Lissa. She broke the law when she fell in love with her gorgeous, off-limits instructor, Dimitri. And she dared to defy Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi world, risking her life and reputation to protect generations of dhampir guardians to come.

Now the law has finally caught up with Rose - for a crime she didn't even commit. She's in prison for the highest offense imaginable: the assassination of a monarch. She'll need help from both Dimitri and Adrian to find the one living person who can stall her execution and force the Moroi elite to acknowledge a shocking new candidate for the royal throne: Vasilisa Dragomir.

But the clock on Rose's life is running out. Rose knows in her heart the world of the dead wants her back...and this time she is truly out of second chances. The big question is, when your whole life is about saving others, who will save you?

My Review:

As I read through this series, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was scared I would end up reading this whole series and it wouldn't turn out the way I wanted it to.

In book 5, Spirit Bound, I started to worry about its ending even more. Book 5 was pretty drawn out so I was hoping this book wouldn't be the same thing. I definitely didn't need to worry about any of that. The whole book was full of either action or something going on that kept you on your toes.

Rose definitely still has a bad time in this book, but it all works out in the end. I was so so so happy with the ending of this book. I think I am going to have to go home after work and re-read the last part of the book because I loved it so much. There are very few books that I read and want to go back and re-read the whole series, but this is one of them.

They all grow up so much in this book. Eddie comes through for his friends no matter what, Dimitri is wonderful as always, Lissa has ALOT going on for her, and Rose...words can't say what this poor girl makes you feel throughout the book. Sometimes I want to smack her and tell her to use her head, then other times I want to smack Adrian or Dimitri instead.

I am sorry for such a vague review, but I don't want to say much more because it will give away everything that happens in this book. I just hope you find it in your hearts to trust me and read this series if you haven't already. I was one of those girls who swore I wouldn't read it, but I finally gave in. I am very glad I did and I now need to go get the spin off series so I can stay within this world a little longer. This is definitely in my top 3 series list now!

Couldn't Put it Down!!
