The last night of summer is only the beginning.

Skye wants to meet the boy who will change her life forever. Seth feels their instant connection the second he sees her. When Seth starts talking to Skye at the last beach party of the summer, it’s obvious to both of them that this is something real. But when Seth leaves for college before they exchange contact info, Skye wonders if he felt the same way she did—and if she will ever see him again. Even if they find their way back to each other, can they make a long-distance relationship work despite trust issues, ex drama, and some serious background differences?

My Review:

Skye is a girl who was raised without having to worry about money. Her parents own a beach house and she spends her summers going to the beach. Before her Junior year of high school she decides she wants true love and is looking for it. Little does she know that he is at the party of her family's. Seth sees her and right away knows she's special. He goes and talks to her, ends up kissing her and never wanting to be away from her. He then ends up leaving town early and not able to say goodbye. They spend a year wishing the other could find them, but it doesn't happen....not then at least.

I LOVED this book. I've read a decent amount of paranormal and dystopian recently that I wanted something light and fluffy. I picked this up because it was one of the shorter books on my shelf so I decided I would fly through it. I didn't expect to devour it like I did. This is in my top 5 contemporaries I've ever read.

I not only fell in love with Skye, but I fell in love with Seth too. This book is set with two different narrations. One chapter is Skye, then the next chapter goes to Seth. So you get to see both sides of the story and understand it all a little better.

The story is set mainly in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I am not sure the state that the beach house is in but it is only a hour drive away from them both. Since I live on a beach myself, it was very easy for me to picture the houses as well as the beach and festivities they have. Granted I know the sand color is different than my snow white sand I have here.

I really have nothing to complain about this story. It keeps you curious on what is going to happen and you cheer them on the whole time. You also get to know their friends as well, Skye has Jocelyn and Kara and Seth has Dorian, Tim, and Grant. I liked being able to see their lives away from each other and the need for them to both be around even when they couldn't.

It was a short read, but so much in the pages was wonderful. I don't complain about the size except I wish I could keep reading about them. The ending was wonderful and had me smiling. I am so glad I picked this up and I know very soon I am going to have to re-read it, just so I can relive the pages all over again.

Couldn't Put It Down!!
