Pick-A-Book Thursday #16

Pick-A-Book Thursday is a weekly meme brought you by me :) It is here for all of us to get our to be read piles down a little and help us get to the books we really want to read but just never got around to them. We can sit here weekly and talk about books we pulled from our jars or those that don't have jars, those who picked one off their shelf! Click here for the Original post for more details!

What book did you pull from your To-Be-Read Book Jar?

* Summer of my German Soldier by Bette Greene

This is a pretty small book so I should be able to get through it pretty quickly though I have one book ahead of it to read first.

By Bette Greene

Goodreads | Amazon

The summer that Patty Bergen turns twelve is a summer that will haunt her forever. When her small hometown in Arkansas becomes the site of a camp housing German prisoners during World War II, Patty learns what it means to open her heart. Even though she's Jewish, she begins to see a prison escapee, Anton, not as a Nazi, but as a lonely, frightened young man with feelings not unlike her own.

In Anton, Patty finds someone who softens the pain of her own father's rejection and who appreciates her in a way her mother never will. While patriotic feelings run high, Patty risks losing family, friends — even her freedom — for this dangerous friendship. It is a risk she has to take and one she will have to pay a price to keep.

What book did you pull from your To-Be-Re-Read Book Jar?

* I decided I would pull from two different jars this week. That way I should hopefully be able to give you some feedback on one or the other next week :)

I pulled....

In Your Room by Jordanna Fraiberg

I absolutely love her writing and I loved this book the first time I read it so much! So I can't wait to re-read it and see how I feel about it now!

3231008In Your Room
By Jordanna Fraiberg

When their families randomly switch houses for the summer, retro-chic LA fashionista Molly Hill and laidback granola boy Charlie Richards find themselves living in totally unfamiliar rooms for two long hot months. Soon they become entwined in each other's secrets, relationships and dreams. Day by day, they grow closer ... even though they're living 1,000 miles apart and have never met face to face.
Can perfect strangers be perfect for each other?
Will Molly and Charlie make it through a summer of seductions, missed connections and the thousand miles between them to find out?

What books did you pull from your TBR Book Jar or TBR List? What books are on your list??

Be sure to leave your links below!!

  1. I haven't heard of either of these. My pull this week is Bad Girls Don't Die by Katie Alender.

    1. I think I have that book on my shelf too! Let me know what you think!

In your room is AMAZING! I devoured it the first time I read it, the other one I bought on a whim years ago and just never got around to it but it sounds pretty good!

Comments are loved and appreciated :) Thanks in advance!!
