America still isn’t sure where her heart lies. When she’s with Maxon, she’s swept up in their new and breathless romance, and can’t dream of being with anyone else. But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, and is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over—and time is running out for America to decide.

Just when America is sure she’s made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. And while she’s struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending.

My Review:

America is still in the palace trying to figure out her own heart. She is having a tough time trying to figure it out, but it seems she had it picked out. Then something happens and she doesn't know anymore and leans back to Aspen. She has a hard decision to make and has to learn the reality that she might be wanting a life she didn't think she wanted before.

America, I have to say annoys me at times. One minute she has it figured out, the next she is so spoiled and self-centered I want to go into the world and slap her. She has such a good life she could have but she can't look past anything to see that. She gets in fits of anger and takes them out on everyone else.

Maxon is also someone that you learn more about, sometimes you aren't sure what you think of him, but he keeps winning over my heart. Aspen on the other hand, I honestly want him gone. I know we all have different opinions, but I have to say I'm Team Maxon all the way. I have been since most of the first book.

When I finished this book I sat there in disbelief. I didn't know it was a trilogy, so I was so ready to hear how it ended to find out it doesn't in this book. I ran to my ipad to see when the next one comes out, I wanted to punch something when I found out it doesn't come out till May 6th. I want to know what happens so bad but I have no choice at all but to wait. This book has made me think I won't read series anymore till they are finished. I tend to forget important parts of books when I have to wait a long time in between. I will end up having to re-read all these books before the last one comes out, but oh well, it will be nice to re-read it all.

A lot of you have said you don't like this one as much and someone you said you even hated the first one, but I have to say I don't fall in either of those categories. I loved the first one and I think the second one is tied for me in which one I like the most. They both have important things in them so I have no bad feelings for either. I will say I wish it wasn't split into three books. I think it could have been split between two, but I won't know if that is completely true till I read the third one and see what all happens in it.

I had to work this whole weekend, but I read anyway at work in between customers even though I would get in so much trouble if my boss every found out. I have been coming home to find out that my boyfriend had stuff he wanted to do so I wasn't able to read at night, so I needed my fix and work was the next best option for me to get some pages in. I ended up coming home and saying I am devouring this book and no one is going to stop me.

I love the characters, I love the idea of it, and I'm so glad I picked up this series even if I have to wait for the last one. If there was a good series/trilogy to pull me out of a reading slump it was this one. I am still walking around thinking of this book. I have been doing it the past few days, when I day dream, my mind goes to this story instead of anything in my real life. That is how you know a book is good, when it devours all your thoughts. I am very much looking forward to the last book and I hope all of you give this series a chance.

Couldn't put it down!
