Armchair BEA Introduction!

1. Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?
Hey guys :) I'm Amber. I'm 24 and a graphic design major. I already have 2 associate's degrees, I just keep going back to school for random things. I have a chihuahua named Moose. I have a wonderful boyfriend. My family is my world. I have been blogging on and off for about 5 years now. This blog itself has been around since April. I got into blogging back in 2008 when I was searching for a book I read in high school, it somehow brought me to The Story Siren. I was in shock. I had no idea the book blogging community was here and I was hooked. I got to work right away assembling my own to put out there into the world.

2. Where in the world are you blogging from? Tell a random fact or something special about your current location. Feel free to share pictures.
I'm blogging from Florida. I'm from what's called the Emerald Coast. We have one of the best fishing communities around, wonderful pretty white beaches and beautiful emerald green and blue water.

3. Have you previously participated in Armchair BEA? What brought you back for another year? If you have not previously participated, what drew you to the event?
No, this will be my first armchair, but I'm excited. I came to the event because I'm sad I don't have the money this year to go to BEA. I made a promise that I will go next year. I saw this version of BEA for all of us that couldn't go. It made me feel a lot better :)

4. What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2013?
I'm currently reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I haven't read anything from him yet but I have seen so much about this book I had to pick it up!

5. Tell us one non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about you.
I love to fish. I'm either reading, working, or fishing. I even work at a tackle store and teach others how to fish.

6. Name your favorite blog(s) and explain why they are your favorite(s).
Eventide Reads- I found her vlogs on Youtube and I really like them. It brought me to her blog. I love how she is honest no matter what and she is quiet funny sometimes in her videos. plus she is the same age as me :)
Diary of a Wimpy Teen Girl- She seems so sweet and tends to comment alot on my posts. It is nice to feel supported and I try to do the same back for her. I also like her posts and her reviews.
Sarah's Random Musings and Zoe's Book Reviews- Both of these I met when I first started blogging. I talk to them often via text as well as we used to skype and everything. They were a big part of my blogging days and I still support them and their blogs. I love ya both.

7. Which is your favorite post that you have written that you want everyone to read?
My favorite so far is my review for Holding On and Letting Go. I absolutely loved the book and it took me a while to even be able to find words to write about it, even then it was hard. Here is the post for it!

8. If you could eat dinner with any author or character, who would it be and why?
Hmmm. This is a tough one. I'd have to pick Jordanna Fraiberg. I have loved all her books. What I love the most though is she talks to you like you are a normal person. Anything I have ever posted about her or her books she has always retweeted and commented on it to me. It has always made me feel special.

9. What literary location would you most like to visit? Why?
I have always loved books that have Italy in them. I don't know why since I have never been there myself. But if I read anything in a book about it being in Italy. I automatically have to read it.

10. What is your favorite part about the book blogging community?
I love how it feels like family. I can always count of all of you to be there to brighten up my day. I know even if comments aren't always posted that you read what I post and support me as well as all the other wonderful bloggers out there.

11. Is there anything that you would like to see change in the coming years?
I really can't think of anything that I would like to change. I might be able to come up with something but for now, I am happy with the way it is :)

  3. Oh my goodness you live in a very beautiful place. I think I would like fishing better if I didn't have to clean the fish. But the rest is spectacular. Glad you could make it to Armchair BEA.

    1. Awww....thank you! I definitely love it here. Cleaning fish isn't so bad once you learn how to do it. I can do it in seconds anymore, de-boned and all! thanks for commenting :)
