Armchair BEA: Day 2- Genre Fiction

Alrighty...of course, as most of us that blog, I love fiction. I do read some non-fiction but it is usually stuff about marine life and not really history or biography. My love is fiction.
If you’re a reader of genre fiction do you have a favourite author or series?
I have alot of series I enjoy:
Harry Potter, Wings, The Immortal Series, Twilight (Yes, I like it!), Hush, Hush, The Hunger Games, Fifty I know there is more but my mind is blanking out!
I have alot of Authors too so I will just try to type off my head!
Sarah Dessen, Aprilynne Pike, J.K. Rowling, Kiera Cass, Nicholas Sparks, Stephanie Meyer, Jordanna Fraiberg, Susane Colasanti, Alyson Noel, Jodi Lynn Anderson, Lucy A. Kelly, Jennifer E. Smith, Suzanne Collins, Jamie McGuire, Beth Harbison, E.L. James.
And what keeps bringing you back for more fantasy/sci fi/horror etc?
I keep coming back because I love no matter what I read, I feel like I'm in another life. I love my life, but it is still nice to go somewhere else for a while. I love warm fuzzy typical chick romance books. That is what I tend to read. If there is a fantasy or anything really with romance in it, I will pick it up.
And if you don’t read one (or more) of these genres what is it that deters you from those sections of the bookstore?
I tend to stay away from horror, most sci fi, and crime. It isn't that I hate these types of books, its just that if I want to spend the time reading, I'm going to go to my usual books I read. So books of this sort I tend to just leave alone because I know even if I buy one of these genres I will most likely never read it. Everyone has their type of books, these just aren't mine. I am sure they are well written just not my forte.
Welp, there is my post! I am sure it is the same as most, but I still answered honestly from my own opinions :)
What did you guys write??

  1. We have a lot of interests in common, though I am a big sci-fi lover! :)

  2. Awesome list of books and authors and I love them too... yes even Twilight! :)

  3. I still have not read the 50 Shades trilogy yet :-) I love HP too. You also mentioned some awesome authors too!

  4. thanks for sharing. I don't often read YA, but liked a lot The Age of Miracles.

  5. I don't read as much YA as I used to, but normally I enjoy it. I love a lot of the same books you do :)

  6. Woah, I think you're actually reading a pretty wide range of books...I loved The Hunger Games (I mean...of course I did!) but for example didn't really enjoy Hush Hush and have a disliking for most thing paranormal in general. Then again, I love to read Historical Fiction, High Fantasy and Steampunk, but I don't read nearly enough of it because I always turn back to contemporaries :)

  7. Nice to meet you! I like to read a wide range of genres too.

Comments are loved and appreciated :) Thanks in advance!!
